Meet the Board

Trudy Vercholuk

President

Trudy joined the Board in 2024 and is currently the President. She also volunteers as President
of the Friends of the Library and coordinates the LASS One-to-one Reading Program at
Sorrento Elementary School. In her leisure time, Trudy enjoys reading, gardening, exercising and boating.

Ryan Anderson

Vice President

Ryan joined the Board in 2025 and currently is the Vice President. After a career in the railway
industry, Ryan moved to Blind Bay where he runs a small business and is involved in the local fire department and the BC Wildfire Service. When not volunteering, Ryan is spending time with his young family and can be found at the skating rink during hockey season.

Susan Dobson

Secretary

Susan joined the Board in 2024 and is currently the Secretary. She worked for many years for
the Okanagan Regional Library and is now volunteering for the Friends of the Library. Susan likes to spend time with her family and enjoys fitness classes, reading, walking, snowshoeing, and playing her Baritone Ukulele.

Judy Bartha

Treasurer

Judy joined the Board in 2025 and currently is the Treasurer. Judy is a business owner and has a solid background in bookkeeping and banking. Being community minded is at the core of Judy’s values. She is a life and spiritual coach and is passionate about personal growth and helping others navigate their journey. She is also a proud parent and Nana. Judy’s other interests include gardening, hiking and personal development.

Celia Dyer

Past President

Celia joined the Board in 2018 and is the Past President. She enjoyed a teaching career and
has been an active volunteer in several organizations including the SAFE Society, United World Scholarship Selection Committee, Trent University Alumni Magazine and is currently the secretary of the Shuswap Singers. Retirement has given Celia time to appreciate the extent, diversity and importance of local volunteerism.

Staci Hendrickson

Director

Staci joined the board in 2026. After a career in healthcare, Staci moved to Blind Bay from the US with her husband in 2023. Staci is getting settled into the community and this is her first foray into volunteering in the Shuswap. Staci enjoys gardening, hiking, biking, paddleboarding, and travel. When the weather sends her inside she enjoys baking and brushing up on playing the piano.

Bob Mones

Director

Bob joined the Board in 2025 and is a Director. He was part owner of a Commercial Insurance
Brokerage firm with offices in Western Canada and Arctic. Bob is involved with the Shuswap
Fire Department and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Sam Vercholuk

Director

Sam joined the board in 2024 and is a Director. He worked in the oilfield for 31 years. He
currently runs a mini storage and property management business and details boats and cars. Sam is a volunteer for the Salmon Arm and South Shuswap Friends of the Library. In his leisure time, he enjoys golfing, riding his Harley, boating and socializing.
